bad to the ass

rhianna is killinnnn' it in the new italian vogue, shot by famous fashion photographer steven klein (hopefully he doesn't follow in the footsteps of all his co-workers and file for bankruptcy anytime soon cause i sure do enjoy checkin out his work, which frequently graces the pages of vogue, harper's bazaar and w magz!)

fa'real though i love rhianna she's always reinventing herself and down to take risks with her music and not to mention her innovative fashion choices. i am totally team rhianna. i just watched chris breezy on larry king. whatta tool. he used to be so banging. as in i wanted to bang him and used to lust after his music videos like a 15-year-old boy watching "a night in paris". but, anywaysss keep it hp rhi-rhi.

you still have my heart,

mk&a have reached fashion perfection

its one thing to be admired by the millions of fans who fell in love with the toddler-sized olsen twins during the peak of full house. another, for those who became avid collectors of their kid movies and fox family channel awfully acted made for TV movies. after full house's debut back in 1987 mary kate & ashley olsen's undeniable cuteness skyrocketed the shows success and their own personal futures filled with dollar signs and mega-success. the blonde-haired, blue-eyed twins were mini moguls by the time they reached their teen years with a hit television series, movies, books, dolls, a clothing line, beauty products and everything in between being marketed with their munchkin faces and billion-dollar names intact.

the funny thing is, for those who saw their most recent movies such as "new york minute", which hit theaters worldwide back in 2004, its safe to say that these girls don't exactly have a whole lot of talent in the acting department. aside from the slogan, "you got it dude" and their super cute 5 foot nothing, 90-pound physiques, their ability to product worthwhile films came to a screeching halt and the twins decided to seek careers in other spectrums of life. after all, there was not going to be any oscar nomination coming their way unless they.... found a way to buy one.

after enrolling in nyu and spreading their wings worldwide the dynamic duo began getting a lot of media attention for something that came natural to them: their unique, sensational sense of effortless chic style. sure the two had designed some fashion lines that hit the shelves of walmart and targeted tweens and teens, but these "fashions" had no more spunk or enigma than the average $10 hanes tee or pair of simple levi jeans.

as the ladies grew up and their sense of style began to transform into near-genius levels they combined their powerful minds and began to structure and design two new high-end fashion lines. these pieces were to be intricately designed by the two and really for once be garments that the girls would actually wear and have even ended up on red carpets being rocked by some of the entertainment industry's finest ladies: beyonce is  fan, lauren conrad has hit many a-list events dawning the line, fashion tycoon heidi klum loves the way the clothes make her body look, vanessa hudgens & jennifer garner have faced off battles for best dressed lists on in-style's website, and even british fashionista sienna miller hit elle magazine's style awards in a funky elizabeth & james designed frock. these girls have hit the jackpot. talent-wise anyways, they've already got more money than god.

from elizabeth and james (named after their other, less-successful siblings) the olsen sisters decided to take their iconic style from the shelves of walmart to the top of the market and create a super chic line that is far more about who've they become as adults than who they've been and most known for.

it's almost impossible to some up their individual style in a sentence or two. since they've ditched their adolescent matching outfits the two sisters have each evolved into two, very different, styles. mary kate never fails to embody the superhuman bohemian goddess that she is. she's eccentric. she's glamorous. she may wear 10 frumpy goth rings at once and mix vintage with high-fashion , but she always manages to pull off her sort of "avant gard" silhouette. ashley has backed away from the homeless bo-ho chic look and really become her own glamorous, classic-self. she always appears to be a little more put together and is less likely to experiment with funky dark rare fashions that might end her up on a worst-dressed list in some silly tabloid.

the two have certainly separated themselves a great deal in the last two years. they conduct interviews separately and even spent two years studying at one of the most prestigious universities in the country. ashley studied architecture and mary kate studied photography, but one place they always saw eye to eye at was: fashion.

their new line the row features a variety of perfectly constructed classics. they don't worry about experimenting with new innovative finds, rather they stick to the few timeless pieces that never went out of style and try their best to create them without error. from swanky blazers to stretchy leather leggings and even $300 cashmere tee-shirts, this line has reached the title of best-seller at high-end retail store bergdorf goodman.

people no longer care about who is the designer behind the collection; in fact the consumers rarely even realize that the power duo is in fact the ones designing their clothing, rather they see a flawless piece of clothing that they really like and make the purchase based off of that and that alone. the fancy french seams and well-cut tailored pieces have allowed this minimalist collection to succeed with a net-earning of over $10 million in the first year alone. recession, say whaaaaat?

the plush over-sized fur coats have sold out and been hitting the streets of new york city worn by manhattan's elite fashionistas. unlike the past signature lines mary kate and ashley are extremely involved in the entire process from start to finish of this new line. this is them. you can see it from simply viewing the collection. it screams olsen!!!

the color palette remains very simple and sophisticated. think blacks, whites, creams, grays, and the occasional hint of red. mary kate admits that the row was "her sister's baby", but she did everything she could to help design the line. she added her own individuality through over-sized man pants. the two both really like to mix and match simplistic pieces and overload on the accessories.

the new york times even recently wrote an almost out of character mushy piece about the seemingly compelling line. the row was designed as clothes designed by "magical millionaire pixies" and that it cannot be improved in anyway because,
"They're perfect."

prostitutes can sell sex... and clothes, too.

last night in the "sex-y" streets of rio de janeiro, brazil, prostitutes modeled the most recent collection for designer DASPU, a line inspired by, well.... prostitutes.

seems pretty self-explanatory eh? they can sell their bodies, so why the hell can they not sell the minimal-clothing on those bodacious bods? get em' girls.

"When my hooker girlfriends parade pretty and proud, they are speaking about themselves and become revolutionaries," says founder Gabriela Leite. "

revolutionaries? well that's not exactly the word that comes to mind when i think of hookers, but since when does my opinion ever really matter??

this fashion label is owned by a non-government based organization whose main purpose is to "increase the social conditions of street workers." how come hookers on van buren never get a break like this? i say we deck them out in some dereo'ns and make beyonce proud.

the fashion line was first founded four years ago with a main purpose of bettering and fighting the discrimination against the "hooker profession".

well... what does the labels name mean? Daspu directly translates to "for the whores". if that's not classy, i don't know what is...

gabriela leite, a former prostitute herself and owner of the brand, also heads the non-profit organization "DAVIDA", which represents over 4500 women in rio and fights for both aids prevention and the well-being of, whores. another main initiative behind leite's efforts was to provide a regular steady income for hookers.

"daspu gets rid of prejudice. it opens paths for the citizen whore."

where's naomi at?

LETS HEAR IT FOR THE (BLACK) GIRLS...
CHANEL, SESSILEE, JOURDYN & ARLENIS
and not a single naomi or tyra banks insight.

2009 is apparently the year of the new posse of strong, talented, regal, beautiful, (and one of them is even knocked up) young black models who are KILLIN IT throughout the industry!
that's my girls ;)

i-D magazine is just one of the trillions of publications and designers who have employed these foxy four women to work for them in the past few years and especially in 2009. most of these girls are under 20. one's from atlanta, one from philly, one is british and the other straight out of the dominican republic.

one has dated kanye west & even been featured in his FLASHING LIGHTS (LIGHTS LIGHTS) music video.

another is besties with tyra banks and dating hip-hop mogul TYGA.

one has a baby on the way with her long-time boyfriend (long-time??? probably been together since they were 15, how cute)

and the other is just a sexy dominican goddess ready to take the fashion industry by storm!!

watch out fashionistas,
ONCE YOU GO BLACK;
YOU AINT EVA GOIN BLACK.

AM I THE ONLY ONE A LITTLE BIT SICK OF KRISTEN STEWART?

I'M SORRY... "K-STEW"!!
---------- Pictures, Images and Photos

Word on the streets of Los Angeles is that Kristen Stewart's next role is going to be playing a STRIPPER. I don't know about you, but when I look at her less-than-gorgeous face the last thing I wanna do is see that bony, white body without clothes. The first thing that comes to mind is put some more makeup on that thing to make her look like a girl, then why why why would Robert Pattinson ever wanna touch her? Then probably, put ON more clothes.

In the soon to be filmed movie "Welcome to the Riley" Stewart will be playing a stripper and... oh even grosser a 16-year-old prostitute. Maybe they mixed up the roles and meant to make her a 16-year-old boy? I don't know. Nonetheless, she is supposed to be a troubled teen from Louisiana who meets a much-older James Gandolfini (as in Tony Soprano himself) who is going through a rocky point in his marriage. Stewart attempts to SEDUCE Gandolfini, who wants nothing from her bony bod other than a companion. This movie has creepy written allllll over it.

Seriously, is she a boy? A girl? A skunk? No one knows.

(yet, equally attractive?)

where have i been??

hfjdhfdskjhfsfs i just realized that it's been waaaaay too long since i've had my fix of oatmeal raisin cookies so i'm here to deliver a late night snack to my... addicted, 3.5 readers :) i love you all dearly.

soooo crazy things going on lately...

"model" jasmine fiore (i feel bad talking negatively about her because she's not alive anymore, but seriously how was she a model? and what did she model for? playboy? it had to be playboy. or perhaps floaties since she's got two gigantic floatation devices on her chest if ya know what i mean :x) was found dead and stuffed in a suitcase after checking into a hotel and the main suspect was believe it or not her 'beloved' VH1 reality-show contestant husband. her douschebag hubby apparently cut off her fingers and pulled out her teeth to throw off the case. too bad those expensive hooters paid off after all. her body was officially identified by using the barcodes on her breast-implants! suckerrrrr. fiore's husband ryan jenkins' body was found in a british columbian hotel room after an apparent suicide.
fuggin' crazy.

i also recently added two movies to my all-time favorite list: "Gia" and "The Express: The Ernie David Story". two totally different, amazing films.

g i a

Gia Movie Pictures, Images and Photos
gia is an older film that was originally made back in 1998 starring angelina jolie. the movie is a true life story about the "first supermodel" gia carangi who was originally from philadelphia. gia was not your average darling blonde-haired, blue-eyed trophy model. she was italian, dark hair, brown-eyes and a little rough around the edges, but on photos she transformed into something agents and industry execs had never seen before. carangi went on to new york city, signed with modeling powerhouse wilhemina models (that is still in the top 5 major agencies in the world) and took over the industry by storm. she ends up letting her crazy, wild side get the best of her, falling in love with a woman, and dying of AIDS at 26-years-old. angelina does such an incredible job in the film. (you totally see her naked too btw for any of you creeps out there into that kinda thing) but for real you should definitely see it! i cried at the end like a wuss. it's that good.

the express

ernie davis Pictures, Images and Photos

when i first picked up this movie i kinda felt like i was settling for it. i hadn't really heard anything about the film and wasn't sure if it was going to be a cheap remake of something between "Remember the Titans" and "We Are Marshall". the movie ended up being amazing. as always, dennis quaid did a phenomenal job and the other (non-a list actors) did just as outstanding. the movie is about real-life aspiring football player ernie davis and his ambitions to become a professional NFL player. david ends up becoming the first african american to win the heisman trophy. the story takes back in the 60s when racial segregation are still a huge issue. i can't give the rest away because it makes it that much better.... but it's a damn good movie! check it out. get ready for a tear jerker.
