Controversy

If you have turned into any entertainment news, blog, or even CNN
lately you have heard of the Miss. America controversy surrounding
runner-up Miss. California, Carrie Prejean.

Prejean was asked my judge (and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who I love):
"“Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage.  Do you think every state should follow suit?  Why or why not? “

Carrie's much talked about answer that unanimously cost her the crown was,
“I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.  No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”

What's the harm in this?
All Prejean did was state her personal opinion.
Would the judges rather have had her lie just to seal her deal on the crown?

We live in America. The crown was for MISS. AMERICA
Not Miss. Gay Rights 2009

I'm not saying whether or not I'm against gay marriage,
but I do believe that living in the United States gives you the automatic
right to Freedom of Speech.

Eminem can rap openly about nailing Sarah Palin
Plenty of novelists & writers have spoke openly about their negative feelings towards
former President Bush.

There is no harm in having your own opinion.

I really do not feel that Prejean should have been stripped of the crown.
She was clearly far ahead in all other areas of the competition.
I still am kinda confused on why Perez was chosen as a judge for such a prestigious competition?
He is a celebrity-blogger, who just so happens to be gay.
It is his job to give his numerous strong, personal, and sometimes hurtful
opinions and post them on his Internet site that gets nearly 200,000 hits a day.

Carrie reportedly said that she still feels like she won.
She still stands by her answer & knows that it likely cost her the crown.

""I did not want to offend anybody, but I think with that question specifically, it's not about being politically correct, for me it was being biblically correct, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other ... same sex marriage or opposite marriage," then added, "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman ... that's how I was raised. Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one. I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage. If I had any other question, I know I would have won," she said in the Fox News interview."

Outside of Perez's beliefs most viewers were appalled by the outcome and some have
even chose to boycott future pageants.
She was slammed for supposedly "discriminating" against others,
but isn't that exactly what the judges were doing towards her?
Discriminating her for stating her personal beliefs.

best dressed

so after giving it a ton of though (not really, like 5 minutes maybe)
i have come up with a list of celebrities that are best dressed
in my opinion of course,
but its the only one that counts because i know like
3489398434 read this thing everyday,
obviously.

anyways. here are my picks for the 8 best celebrities. some may be shocking?
some not so much.

1. Katy Perry: No one probably had ever even heard her name until her chart topping single, "I kissed a girl" hit the radio months ago, but in my opinion Perry is more noteworthy for her killer style. Seriously she always looks like she is getting ready to go to a quinsinetta or something extravagant. I love her choice in colors. She always looks so youthful and candy-like. Love it.

2. Kate Bosworth: First known for her role in "Blue Crush" (maybe only known for her role in Blue Crush :/?) Bosworth has since been known manly for her long-term relationship with the ever gorgeous Orlando Bloom (yum :)). Since the big breakhow; however, Bosworth has only really been seen in magazines for her "sometimes odd", yet rad sense of style. She has a super indie spin with a classic touch. She has been placed on numerous best-dressed lists and has a super All-American fashion sense with a little British spin...maybe that comes for her choice in English lovers? Hmmm.. She even has contracts with both Revlon & Calvin Klein Jeans.

3. Rachel Bilson: Ya know, I didn't even watch the O.C. and yet I have still always had love for Rachel Bilson. She always looks so innocent and sweet, not to mention makes a big effort to stay papparazzi-free. Which, she does for the most part other than in Style Magazines. Bilson has always been a little ahead of the game and doesn't mind taking risks with up and coming trends. She is super tiny so just about everything looks incredible on her. I think the best part of her style is it never seems to over the top, she always looks comfortable, and she makes her outfit work each and every time. She also knows how to rock the hell outta Raybans.

4. Whitney Port: City girl Whitney Port has always had a soft spot in my heart. I'm not gonna lie I was so over the Hills after one season, but Whitney always intruiged me with her risky fashion sense. She always managed to outshine LC, which really made me made that Lauren got her own clothing line. Like have you seen the stuff? It is so plain and stuff you could find at Old Navy for $11 only she sells for like 19 times that. She looks so cute in this picture while she is on her date with rocker Jay Lyons. I love the indie-vibe.

5. Shenae Grimes: This may come as a surprise, but the only good thing about the new 90210 in my opinion (aside from the good looking men, obv.) are newcomers Shenae Grimes (and Jessica Stroup's) awesome rock-inspired fashion. I think Grimes always looks extra cute because she has the look of a 12-year-old yet she always is wearing such out there things. She dresses very vintage with a new millenium touch. She never looks less than awesome.

6. Rihanna: Real surprise, that Rihanna makes the list. To me, Rihanna IS fashion. She is the epitome of a trend-setter. I'll never forget the first time she hit the stage at the VMA's singing Umbrella. That was the birth of her dominatrix-inspired bad girl edgy side, which 100% works for her. I love her rock chick BADASS wardrobe. She is such a gorgeous girl that she can go from wearing leather head to toe in the day and then a super feminine Gian Battista Valli dress. That was one of the prettiest dresses I have ever seen. It is SO Belle from Beauty & the Beast. Love it<3

7. Vanessa Hudgens: Just because she made the list does not mean that I like her. I repeat, it does not in any way, shape, or form mean that I like her. Cause I DONT. But Hudgens does have the ultimate sense of style. I kinda am convinced that its only because of the trillions of dollars that she has, but anyways she always looks amazing and I would totally raid her closet if I could. Personally, I think she has really great taste in shoes. Her typical outfit is skinny jeans, a cute top and KILLER shoes.

Last but not least,
the one
the only
KATE MOSSSSS (apparently if your name is Kate, Katy, or any form of Katie you automatically are stylin')

8. (but really #1; Kate Moss): Well I mean she is a London-based Supermodel. She better have a good sense of fashion. Only, when it comes to fashion her choices definitely reach well beyond good. She is a style icon all throughout the world. She is the ultimate model/designer/muse/partyin' British beauty. She is fashion's bad girl. Always dating British rockin' druggies and finding herself in the face of trouble, but looking stellar while doing so? Her personal style is beyond fierce. Look for the designs she created for European-based (but newly domestic as well) store Top Shop!

Latika for Sale?

You read that right.
Little "Latika" Rubina Ali's father has actually tried to "sell" his daughter
over an illegal adoption due to "hard times" and poverty.
That's just siiiiiick.

What about the fact that Danny Boyle and the rest of the Slumdog team
sent all of the children to the best of the best UN schools?
Or the fact that they set up large trust-funds for the children once they turn 18?

Apparently all the father really wants is to become a "Slumdog Millionaire" himself.
He put up his angelic-faced daughter for millions of rupees
in an attempt to escape the slums of Mumbai.

When an undercover reporter pretended to be interested in "buying" little Latika
her father replied simply,
""I have to consider what's best for me, my family and Rubina's future."

Ohhhhhhh, well in that case then it is no longer child neglect, asshole.

He then tried to cover his sorry-butt and say that Slumdog bosses "forced"
them to put his daughter up for sale, ohh yeah that's real believable because every time
a child star buds in Hollywood the first thing agents due is put them right up on ebay.
Ummm...in my opinion you're just a sorry excuse for a human being.

"We've got nothing out of this film,"
replied Rafiq Qureshi

Well maybe because you weren't actually in it?
Your daughter that is currently listed on Craigslist is dumbass.

Sadly this type of scheme is far from unusual in the poverty-stricken areas of Mumbai.
People are always looking for an escape from their everyday poor lives.

There is reportedly a staggering 11 million children abandoned in India every year,
which leaves plenty of prey for the horrid actions such as those performed in the film
where the Fagin-like thugs were both blinded and crippled in order to achieve sympathy
from those they are begging money from.

"We are only looking out for the best for her and her future."

I'll adopt you Latika :(

tennis heart throb ties the knot

I remember being soooo insanely jealous of Mandy Moore back
in the day when she was dating tennis beau Andy Roddick.

Like seriously,
I thought she was like god's gift to earth.
She has her killer hit "Candy" that I rocked out to in my room
on repeat for hours at a time back in like..1998
and then on top of that she got to date Andy-Gorgeous-Roddick.
Some girls have all the luck!

Anyways blah blah blah
Mandy Moore obviously must have done something wrong in life
and somehow ended up married to Ryan Adams,
meanwhile Sexy Roddick just tied the knot this weekend with Sports Illustrated
supermodel Brooklyn Decker.

Bet Mandy's a little jeal and bitter of that sitch?

I think that they are a gorgeous couple together!
Seriously supermodel & tennis-ace.
They are going to make some
David/Victoria Beckham-esque super-kiddos one day.

Not to mention. The best part...
They had Elton freakin' John sing at their wedding.
gfkghkfdjghdfghf
Why wasn't I invited?!!

Benny & The Jets
has officially become my new happy song by the way
seriously. instant mood changer.
download that ish.

And, to end on a funny note.
My former celebrity crush was seen this weekend at
Coachella with his new 19-year-old girlfriend.

He's 35.
Get em' killa.

-Keira Knightley

to have your personal assistant do all your email dirty work.

""I believe that computers have taken over the world. I believe that they have in many ways ruined our children. I believe that kids used to love to go out and play. I believe that social graces are gone because manners are gone because all people do is sit around and text. I think it's obnoxious."
-Stevie Nicks

I love you Stevie buuuut ever since I saw you on Jimmy Fallon
