Another Little Angel On The Way

Something must be in the water over at Victoria's Secret! It has been confirmed that supermodel Karolina Kurkova is six months pregnant! Kurkova follows the footsteps of her fellow Angel's Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundchen who are currently expecting as well. Brazilian Angel Alessandra Ambrosio gave birth to her daughter Anja last August.


The Czech Republic born beauty is expecting her first child with her fiance Archie Drury. Drury is a former marine and Scientologist who created the documentary film, "Voices of Iraq". The two have been dating a little over a year.


Kurkova grew up in Czechoslovakia, where she was constantly ridiculed for her towering height. When she was 15-years-old a close friends of hers sent her photographs to a modeling agency in Prague and Karolina's modeling career took off instantly. Shortly after, she began appearing on runways, as well as print advertisements and ultimately chose to move to Milan in order to get the best exposure possible.


Right away she signed a contract with Miuccia Prada. In September of '99 Kurkova was featured in the American version of Vogue, which helped launch her career and also assisted in her decision to relocate to the fashion capital of the world, New York City. In 2001, Karolina landed the cover of Vogue, becoming one of the youngest models to ever be featured on the magazine's cover.


Unlike most models who opt to take the plunge by moving to the fast-paced, incredibly competitive Big Apple, Karolina experienced consistent success signing campaign after campaign with top designers Yves Saint Laurent, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Christian Dior, Hugo Boss, and Versace. In 2002, she was participated in Victoria's Secret televised fashion show showcasing the multi-million dollar fantasy bra, valued at 10 million dollars. Her flourishing accomplishments in the industry continued full throttle when Karolina was spotted on the runways dressed in luxurious garments at couture fashion shows for Alberta Ferretti, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Chanel, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Karl Lagerfeld, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney & Vera Wang. Not bad for a rookie!!
